Lower Hewood Farm is a 45 acre, certified organic small-holding located on the borders of Dorset, Devon and Somerset, producing meat and vegetables for sale locally. An ongoing programme of arts-related events, projects and residencies take place in parallel with the everyday functioning of the farm, run by Alexa de Ferranti, Maria Benjamin, Jeremy Andrews, Richard and Kaye Down and Amy Ralph.
Activities take place in a range of buildings including a farmhouse, sheds, converted barns and farm buildings, as well as the surrounding land, a portion of which is a Site of Nature Conservation Interest and part of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme.
In development is an archive of past and present agricultural practice, the environment, local history, artist books and material relating to Lower Hewood Farm projects.
